Past Narrative

Shocking Days

This story is one of my shocking stories. It happened some months earlier. The story began when my friends and I had got an assignment from our lecturer to make a presentation. In Counseling and Guidance Course, the students had been divided into some group ad each group got a theme.

Actually, we had much time to make the presentation, but we didn’t use the time effectively. My friends and I made it a day before the presentation. We thought that the time was enough to make them all, but we were wrong. The time was not enough and we weren’t able to finish the assignment. We had just realized that we hadn’t had more sources and we only had had a handout. It was not enough. However, we tried to relax because one of my friends had said, “I have just remembered that only some presenters who will present their presentation at random.”

The deadline of our presentation came. We were very nervous because we didn’t have any preparation for our presentation. The class began at 9.00 A.M, and we entered the class. We were able to control the situation for a while before our lecturer called one of member of each group to take a number to be the presenters that day. One of my friends came in front and took one. He got a blank paper; it meant that we were not one of the presenters that day. We were very happy, but the lecturer said, “We have to repeat once more, because there are some students are dishonest.” We were disappointed. We thought that we weren’t able to be lucky anymore. However, we couldn’t do anything to refuse it. My friend came in front once more and took one. “Oh my God…we get a blank paper again”, said one of my friends. We were so happy, but some seconds later the lecturer said us to repeat again. We were very desperate; my friend who took the number was also more desperate. Finally, we were not lucky anymore. We became the last presenter that day.

We were panicky, because we didn’t have the power point and the report. We had to take them in. Finally, we were making it while the others were presenting their presentations. When we wanted to start making it, the laptop was low battery. It made us more panicky. We charged it and started to make it. We made it in a hurry; we didn’t care about the content. We also didn’t care about the presenters who presented their presentation. After finishing, we printed them out without permission from the lecturer. While the lecturer was paying attention with the presenters, we were opening the door and printing them out at SAC (Self-Access Center).

When one of my friends and I printed them out, suddenly my friend sent a message. He said that “We must present our presentation now!” My friend and I were very panicky. We run into the class and brought the prints. After we arrived in the class; the lecturer came in front and said “The time is up, so the next presenter will present their presentation next week.” Then I said “Oh my God…what happen today?”
The news made us happy but also disappointed, because we had finished the report and the power point, although the result was not maximal, but we had to present our presentation next week. However, It didn’t matter for us, because the important thing is, we promise to ourselves that we won’t repeat it again; we will do any assignment long day before the deadline.

  1. Hi, Wella..
    Sweet colour for your background..
Oh, yeah, I'm risma, your teacher of past narrative..

Your experience must make your hearth beat frighteningly. Being unprepared presenters for a whole class,..wuah.. so scared for me...

Well, what I like from your writing that you put many direct speech for the dialogue. And, that's very attractive to read. it makes me want to read your story more and more.
And it's also a good story of your including the resolution.
Moreover, the good one is I haven't found the grammatical mistakes of your.. but you still need more comments from your friends beside me..

    So, Good job wella..
And nice to see you and read your story..
    bye..bye..bye..
